Who is Jon?
Jon Kortajarena, 22 years old, became a model almost by chance. It was five years ago, during Fashion Week, he met a friend attending a show.
Eduardo Sayas, his current booker, noticed him and persuaded him to try the fashion world. Being a minor then, Jon had to convince his parents (rather traditional) to let him travel to Paris. So he left Bilbao, his hometown, and started stepping into fashion in the French capital.
His career began working for Roberto Cavalli´s campaign shot by Ellen Von Umbert. After this experience, the wheel of fortune set in motion for him: he settled in New York and worked for different campaigns such as Diese, Gas, Armani...
2008 promises to be quite prolific, with Tom Ford, Trussardi, Bally, Mango and Guess campaigns already finished.
Jon still has the time to listen to pop music, the likes of Sunday Drivers, who he favoures, between photoshootings and hour changes.
And behind his mysterious stare, we find a delicate creature. Jon explained to us recently: "I am a hopeless romantic. I believe in that grand love which can change your life in five days. Maybe it is just because I´m too young, but I really hope to believe the same at the end of my days"
